I stopped wondering a long time
ago if you would reach a saturation point. Each mix of the Colored Room
series has been an audio work of art. And the newest sound canvas The Red
Room takes it's place in River's Gallery. Starting with one of my favorite
songs Lamb's Gabriel, DJ River proceeds in masterfully blending songs that
are new to me and likely the unschooled in the US. And as the last strain of
Brazilian Girls's Lazy Lover fade I take a deep breath and wonder when we
will get the next "room". Note to DJ River : "Don't let this be the last of
the series."

xlnt...what more can i say..i have been an avid listener of dj river mixes
since some months but i havent heard a mix like this one...its been playing
on my winamp player since 8hrs in a loop and i didnt even realize of
changing the track..best music for creatives who work late at nights ...i
truly madly deeply loved this one for sure...Now i know why u call urself Dj

old, ex-pat Scot living in the cultural desert of New York City, I can say
how much I like what you are doing.
Thanks to googling around for some more info on Zilent Zpot, I stumbled upon
your site and heard (for the first blissful time) "Gabriel" and became an
instant Lamb fan - or maybe I'm just a pushover for breathy female voices.
Shame they split up before I got to know them. :-\
I started putting my own mixes together on cassettes back in the early 70's,
and reel-to-reel tape before them. All for my own entertainment, and that of
my friends. Yours are light-years ahead of those.

Wasn't sure you'd ever be able to quite top the Green room. But this comes
as close as any. I don't know where you got the magic touch you use to whip
up these delightful concotions....perfect to just curl up on a couch by
candlelight, perfect to go to sleep to, perfect to just plain relax to....I
could go on, but the point is - I hope this particular brand of magic
doesn't stop anytime soon. ^_^

very special period of the year. You can see in the music the melancholy
autumn brings along, the sun sparks through yellowing trees, chill with warm

Simply great album and IMHO the best chillout album made by DJ River. I just
listen to it again and again and I still can't stop. It includes both
expressive and 'background' parts and the tracks are both smoothly chosen
and connected.
If you listen to it carefully, you can find there's a story standing behind
it. It boosts your fantasy to imagine a way you're going through and places
you're passing by. It's like a day and night, you simply hear there dawn,
sunshine, fresh wind, dask, moon, long and tired night and the end bringing
the new day to come. It just depends on your fantasy, what you really find
there.
But anyway I really love it and thanks for making it!

Long time been!
Finally, after a long-long time of silent enjoying River's music, I sit down
to write a review.
This is the Red Room. Expressive, romantic and touching sounds. It truly
expresses the flavour of the fall. I would call the set a beautiful and
quiet enjoyment of life, emotions and, of course, the fall.
Among all four Coloured Room series mixes I would rank it on the first spot,
as a definite highlight of River's style, flawless mixing and taste. This is
a truly gourmet set, not burdened by aggressive track selection or a claim
for "new" taste. It demonstrates the beauty of music in its pure,
traditional aesthetic sense, showing the true, exquisite taste of Dj River.
Tender sounds, full of dreams, love and featherlight visions of the
fantastic, emotional and very kind world of Dj River. This set is like a
kiss of a loved girl - soft, tender and with just a little bit of sadness.
Keep up the perfect work, it is enjoyed by many people. And it makes these
people happier, inspired and full of life.

A new release from DJ River is always an event. The Blue Room was almost
perfect and was showing an even greater maturity in the musical choice and
blend as the time goes. Currently dowloading your new masterpiece, but with

I guess I am spoiled by the other DJ River mixes, and I consider the blue
room to be the Masterpiece of the Room series so far, giving it a 10+.
Compared to that, something was missing in the red room, the tunes are good
(not great!) the music flows but the spark, the magic spell that comes from
listening to the blue room is absent. So i had to give it a 8. What changed
from composing the blue-room to the red-room?

I listened to this mix all the way through 3 times.. I must say this is one
incredible mix, with music from different cultures, i love how alot of it
has vocals and mixes so well even though some of the tracks are so
different.
My favorite one i would say is "The Love Supreme" I love this track alot.
Correct me if im wrong but the voice sounds so familiar and is it the same
voice from The Mind Expander Part 1 - Seoan - Far From Paradise?
It sounds so much like her.. If not oh well :P
Very very great job on this mix, it has been mixed so well, combined,
blended, and brought together for the final result of a fantastic mix. Yet

Although it is very "Café Del Mary" again i think this is the finest
