I really liked the idea of you two teaming up with this collection. This mix
is really sleek and calming. Very inovative and cool. Hope you hear more from
you as well as DJ River. You two make a great team.

Great mix. Perfect for ambiental (background) music for working or studying.
Right now i am listening to that mix for 3rd time and i must say, that this
music really stimulates mind ;)
Sometimes the choice of songs reminds me to the music of Jan Michell Jarre.
You can find a lot of similarities.

BRAVISSIMO !!! This is the only thing which spots up into my mind while
hearing your CD. It is awesome, never were touched by music so deep, never was
taken away from my daily life so far. When I look out the window and see all
the lights of the streets, it seems to be in another world. Hey man, this
music gives me a lot of ideas ... have you ever thought to make a video ??
That would be the "bang" together with this music ... flying away into new
dimensions. I love your tracks, because they are so "earthen", sounds from the
ground of our hearts and planet. Thank you for mixing up these nice things. I
will donate for you if PayPal does not make a lot of problems. Go on with this
music - you are a great DJ.

I think I only once or twice ever stumbled across a mix I liked better than
this one. But it is a matter of state of mind which you prefer. "Recycle Or
Die" is a great album in the same league as this one, but "drifting" in
another way. Danish "Tounesol" made a CD back in the 90's which also got that
kind of sad and even at times angry driftness about it. But then, they are not
excatly what you would refer to as "mix", but albums. Not that this
compilation is actually a bad or misfortunate mix - NO SIR! This, however, is
a "happy-sit-back-and-think" mix whereas the "Recycle or Die" and the
"Tournesol" CDs are not-so-happy ones. But then, once in a while that is your
state of mind.
I can only congratulate you, DJ River, for this fine mix. You've made your
point and I will comply and although I might be considered as a passive member
in this otolucious community, I still find much joy and happiness. Thoughts
are tax-free. Keep it that way.

Nothing short of amazing. AMAZING.
I'm a full time web developer and this is the music that gets me by on those
sleepless nights of work. What I do really requires creativity at times and
this is the music I can close my eyes to and zone out with.
DJ River, I have been looking for collections of this type of music for years!
Thank you!

Hey River. First found your mixes on
globalbeatz.net and man what a find! This mix in particular is so lush and
warm. The first track brings a tear to my eye. I can't believe that you are
only rated 500 in
the dj list! You should be top 10 at least! Keep it going... Bless ye

Excellent. This is by far the deepest and most wide-ranging mix River has done so far. A continuous progression of chilled moods - a real journey of imagination and atmosphere. Many of the crossfades are so perfect that you need to check the player just to see that you've moved on. The selection of tracks is at the same high calibre of River's past mixes. One of the great things about his mixes is so evident here: River doesn't just choose tracks because they blend well with each other; they must sustain a consistent context and ambience, or progress through transitions in a way that makes emotional sense.
And it is essential to note that this mix is totally in symbiosis with Espe's Part II. These two have worked extrmemly well together - they seem to possess the same musical vision, while maintaining their own signatures.
This is certainly River's greatest work yet. Keep it up, River. /Patrick, 47 (Canada)

Well done, River! As for me, I prefer your last compilation - the Green Room. However, I enjoyed The Mind Expander from the beginning to the very end. Its major difference from the Green Room is a special mood and maturity. One can't just listen to it without concentrating on it, it requires attention, it has its own character. The quality of music, as usual, is awesome. River's taste and careful track selection did it again - The Mind Expander is a great mix from the beginning to the end. This is one of the best things about River - every mix is pure bliss from the beginning to the end, every track is in the right place. Keep up the good work, it's greatly appreciated! /Sergiy (Canada)

Smooth, mature and impressively thought out. Seamless movement and agile transitions make for a dreamlike experience. DJ River demonstrates his mastery over sound and feeling, captivating the mind and caressing the senses. The Mind Expander Part I is a relaxed journey through the swaying structure of chillout. Fall into a soft, deep armchair and be embraced by the music. Perfection. /Timothy, 27 (USA)
