As a long listener to your mixes I knew what you can and are able to produce, but this track is the best I´ve ever heard. You topped even Blank&Jones Chillout mix, which was up to now my favorite Chill-out albums. You have placed yourself on my TOP-list with this nice mix. The arabic lounges, the floating noises ... a little bit from DJ Schiller, a little bit from Chicane, a little bit form here and there ... you took always the best. Congratulation! I have no words to describe it ... please make more of that ! With kind regards and wishing you a successful 2007.

It's about a year I listen to your Ambient Chillout mixes and Room Series. Since I'm a student I usualy listen them while I work and study and must say that I enjoy. Ambients are so relaxing and stimulating. I've allways been in love with ambiental music but after I found about your mixes I love it more and more. Thank You for the best ambiental mixes I've ever heard.

Beautiful.

It starts with quite a Christmassy feel, with some subtle jingle bells, but with melancholy coutermelodies, and just builds from there.

Once again the miestro of surreal music and orchestrated a collection of pieces sure to elevate you right out of your seat. Each hand-picked selection takes you through a auditory journey that captivates your very presence and commands your attention, yet in a subtle and provocative way just so you senses are teased by a merry-go-round of sweet esoteric dreams. DJ River continues the tradition of seamlessly putting chillout tracks and into one continuous mix. Great choice of order for the tracks and seem to be best suited, as mentioned by another reviewer, a soundtrack.

"Ambient Chillout Mix 6 - Autumn 2006" is a different organism. But first, those features that define a DJ River mix: As ever, the cross-fades are imperceptible, blending the mix into a unified continuum - honestly, there's nothing new for River in that, but its subtlety still amazes me. And the careful attention to thematic consistency; no rushing headlong into the mix, just to get it out. River, you're a very meticulous and patient man. And this mix, perhaps even more so than the others in the series, embodies the term "Ambient Chillout"; atmospheric to the max, totally low-key.

But what's new(er) about this mix is its progression through the ethereal, primal, and meditative. (Not TOTALLY new; some of this is apparent in AC 5.) The continuing evolution of River's sensibilities is evident; these selections create a synergistic collective experience, with deep auditory and visceral emotions.

I absolutely LOVE the recurring use of ethnic instrumentals, like the duduk in the John Debney tracks. (This instrument has been described in a 2005 proclamation by UNESCO as a "Masterpiece of the Intangible Heritage of Humanity". I've been in love with it ever since Peter Gabriel used it in "The Last Temptation of Christ".) And vocals such as that in "Returning Home" by Bliss - the simple cadence of the language provides the music and the message. Understanding the words is unnecessary.

The only unfortunate thing about this mix is that it has to end. Replay, replay again...

River, you're travelling to some fascinating places in your musical expeditions. Thanks once more for taking us along with you.

If Dj River is known for his music, its for his Ambient Chill mixes. Very relaxing and yet deeply emotional mix, packed with serenity and a key to your inner self. A very possitive feel, with classy and safe sound, that makes you look at life around you and smile. Hands down one of the best ambient mixes yet, very deep and positively emotional.....as ambient music should be, driven by chilling atmosphere.
